• Linsey’s Full Makeover

“I didn’t recognize myself at first…I was so excited I jumped for joy! I can’t wait to go out and be myself.” – Linsey

Linsey was diagnosed with Grave’s Disease, an autoimmune disorder leading to hyperthyroidism, back in 1996. As we spent time with Linsey we found that her hair loss was caused by a combination of Graves’ Disease, Hashimoto’s Disease and the medications associated with them. For these types of diseases that cause damage emotionally, and physically it’s so important to build awareness so that women who may be suffering can seek and find help.

We prepared Linsey for her hair system by having a personalized discussion with her about her hair loss and determining which solution would be best for her specifically.

Design & Mold:

“I thought that the mapping and molding process was revolutionary! It was something that I’ve NEVER seen before” Linsey said.

By using a mold and template, we were able to create a personal blueprint of Linsey head in order to create her personal hair replacement system. This helps to ensure that the piece fits properly.

In order to further determine the best custom design solution for Linsey we had to take into account lifestyle, coverage needs and maintenance requirements in order to determine which attachment method would best suite her needs. The best option for Linsey was Extended Wear due to her more active lifestyle and her want to not have to take her solution on and off each day.

Recommended Solution:

Linsey’s solution was a combination of an integration/duplication system for the area of thinning on the top of her head. This allowed for my team to pull through her growing hair while also supplementing the area where she had little to no hair. My team also used an extension as part of the combined solution. The extension helped Linsey to get the thickness she wanted on the sides and back where she had more see-through hair, as well as gain a bit of length to give her the overall look she desired.

Once her hairpiece was attached, Linsey received a cut and style to fit her face shape. Because Linsey has a heart shaped face We choose a layered look with bangs and face framing layers to give Linsey a hairstyle that has volume and looks natural.

Maintenance Training:maint train

Lastly, we trained Linsey on how to correctly care for her new hair replacement system. Just like natural hair, our replacement systems require specific treatment and up keep to keep our guess looking and feeling beautiful.
